The Alum Trail begins with a song

As waters flow from a mountain high.

Our hike gently climbs along the stream

Across wooden bridges ‘til we reach “Arch Rock”.

Then the trail snakes around the mountain side

Through Rhododendron heaths up to “the Bluff”.

Through the “Saddle” the assent begins

And after the “Switchback” there’s a mile of views!

And old pine trees a tunnel makes . . .

Atop the world . . . to LeConte Light!
